ENGINE

  • Thorneycroft 1.8 Liter, 50 hp. four cylinder marine diesel engine.
  • Major engine overhaul in 1994
  • 3 blade MAX- PROP Auto Feathering prop, plus brass three-blade spare.
  • Hurth gearbox.
  • Balmar 125 amp Alternator, plus spare.
  • Engine block and exhaust manifold have a closed cooling system.
  • Heat exchanger and exhaust are raw water cooled with a water lock muffler in the exhaust.
  • The transmission is a Hurth unit with 1.8:1 reduction.
  • Mechanical Shaft Seal w/ water flush  - PSS (packless sealing system) – dripless / maint. free
  • A Volvo single lever cable is fitted at the steering pedestal.

 ENGINE ACCESS:

A removable windowed door enables full, easy and quick access to the engine. Good lighting within engine compartment and plenty of room in the walkway for you, tools and parts. Oil changes are as easy as can be. A nice feature.

ENGINE ROOM VENTILATION:

A clamshell vent on the port side cockpit coaming is ducted to the lower engine room area and port storage locker.

 

ELECTRICAL:

  • Complete rewiring in 1999. All marine grade materials. Work performed by highest level certified marine repair technician. Rewiring cost $15,000. All work and materials completed to code.
  • 12V ship power, (2) x 110v / 30 amp shore power connection
  • Freedom 10 Inverter / Charger
  • Link 2000 monitor
  • Two Battery banks (8D Surrette Deep Cycle house battery, 8D Surrette Lead Acid crank battery). Battery Isolator
  • Navigation and cabin lights, deck flood light, circuit breakers all.

ELECTRICAL CIRCUITS & EQUIPMENT:

  • 12 volt and 110 volt wiring, fixtures, breakers, master panel / breakers etc. replaced in total electrical system re-fit in 2003 - 04.
  • All 110-volt outlets are equipped with ground fault interrupters.
  • The vessel is wired for 12-volt ship power and 110-volt shore power.
  • There are two (2) separate 110v/30 amp shoreline connection circuits. 
  • A heart Freedom 10 charger / inverter is installed in the battery compartment. 
  • The house batteries consist of one 8D deep cycle battery. The cranking battery consists of one regular 8D battery. Charging / Monitoring and Inverting are controlled and monitored by Heart Inverter / Charger Interface - Link 2000 system (Includes Smart Alternator Regulator). Batteries are installed /secured in two battery boxes located - one in port side locker and one in starboard side locker. 
  • A master vapor proof selector switch is installed at the switchboard.
  • All circuits in both 12 and 110-volt systems are fitted with circuit breakers.

 

 

SEA CONNECTIONS:

  • 1 – forward toilet intake with two-way cock
  • 1 – basin drain with two-way cock
  • 1 – forward toilet discharge with two-way cock
  • 1 – engine cooling water intake with seacock / strainer
  • 1 – after toilet intake with two-way cock
  • 1 – after toilet discharge fitted with two-way cock
  • 1 – after basin drain fitted with two-way cock
  • 2 – cockpit scuppers with bronze seacocks

All underwater seacocks are bronze construction.

BILGE PUMPS:There are two automatic electric pumps equipped w/float switch in the bilge, and manual diaphragm pump in the cockpit.
